Fam­i­ly Sup­port Work­er, Groote Eylandt ( full time: FIFO from Dar­win or based on Groote Eylandt)

The MJD Foun­da­tion is cur­rent­ly seek­ing a Fam­i­ly Sup­port Work­er for our team on Groote Eylandt. The Fam­i­ly Sup­port Work­er (FSW) will work as part of a mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team that sup­ports indi­vid­u­als and their fam­i­lies liv­ing with MJD by pro­vid­ing holis­tic per­son-cen­tered sup­port to improve qual­i­ty of life. MJDF works in a rela­tion­ship-based approach that hon­ours Our Way. The Our Way’ approach val­ues and respects a two-way’ approach, deliv­er­ing sup­ports that are flex­i­ble and respon­sive to the needs of our clients, and reflect­ing the diverse cul­tur­al and lin­guis­tic needs of families.

The pur­pose of the FSW posi­tion is to assist the Man­ag­er Com­mu­ni­ty Ser­vices (MCS) by pro­vid­ing inten­sive ser­vices and sup­port to fam­i­lies, such as assess­ing client/​family needs; plan­ning; infor­ma­tion and refer­ral; group work; liais­ing with and pro­vid­ing access and par­tic­i­pa­tion to com­mu­ni­ty groups, wel­fare agen­cies, and gov­ern­ment bodies.

The Fam­i­ly Sup­port Work­er pro­vides high qual­i­ty, respon­sive and cul­tur­al­ly appro­pri­ate sup­port to Abo­rig­i­nal and/​or Tor­res Strait Islander fam­i­lies. The Fam­i­ly Sup­port Work­er will be an expe­ri­enced pro­fes­sion­al with knowl­edge and expe­ri­ence in the com­mu­ni­ty and/​or dis­abil­i­ty ser­vices sec­tor. The role is great­ly var­ied in its day to day tasks, and would require you to work on Groote Eylandt. We can pro­vide you with shared accom­mo­da­tion in Alyan­gu­la or a duplex in the Abo­rig­i­nal com­mu­ni­ty of Angu­rugu. Alter­na­tive­ly, we can fly you to Groote Eylandt on a week­ly (Mon­day – Fri­day) or bi-week­ly (every oth­er week- the oth­er week will be spent work­ing from our Dar­win office) basis. This is a per­ma­nent full time role, 38 hours per week. Since you will main­ly be pro­vid­ing sup­port to male clients, this role is only open to male applicants.

NDIS Sup­port Coordinator

The NDIS Sup­port Coor­di­na­tor has over­all respon­si­bil­i­ty for man­ag­ing the day to day man­age­ment of fund­ing required to ensure clients have the best pos­si­ble out­come in line with the goals in their NDIS plans. This is a fast-paced role in a flu­id envi­ron­ment sup­port­ing com­plex clients. You will work in a small, sup­port­ive, NDIS team in our Dar­win office.

Gen­er­al Allrounder

The MJD Foun­da­tion is cur­rent­ly seek­ing a Gen­er­al All­rounder. The Gen­er­al All­rounder will pro­vide gen­er­al sup­port to the oper­a­tions team. The MJDF works in a rela­tion­ship-based approach that hon­ours Our Way. The pur­pose of the Gen­er­al All­rounder is to assist the Oper­a­tions team by pro­vid­ing a vari­ety of sup­port. You will look after the MJDF vehi­cle fleet (make sure the cars are fueled up each day, kept clean and keep track of mileages in excel), be respon­si­ble for the col­lec­tion and deliv­ery of goods from var­i­ous retail­ers, freight com­pa­nies and offices, and any oth­er tasks that come up (mail, gen­er­al office house­keep­ing, etc.). Work­ing hours will gen­er­al­ly be 07:30AM03:30PM, how­ev­er the hours can be flexible.

The role is very hands-on and great­ly var­ied in its day to day tasks.

Man­ag­er, Com­mu­ni­ty Ser­vices- Alice Springs — Part time, 3 days/​week or flexible

The MJD Foun­da­tion is cur­rent­ly seek­ing a Man­ag­er, Com­mu­ni­ty Ser­vices (MCS) based in Alice Springs. MJDF works in a rela­tion­ship-based approach that hon­ours Our Way. The Our Way’ approach val­ues and respects a two-way’ approach, deliv­er­ing sup­ports that are flex­i­ble and respon­sive to the needs of our clients, and reflect­ing the diverse cul­tur­al and lin­guis­tic needs of families.

The MCS is a stand alone’ or solo posi­tion based in Alice Springs. The MCS is a mem­ber of a larg­er team based across mul­ti­ple loca­tions (Dar­win, Cairns, Groote) with respon­si­bil­i­ty for the com­mu­ni­ty & clin­i­cal ser­vices deliv­ered by the MJDF in Cen­tral Aus­tralia.
The MCS will work to sup­port our clients and their fam­i­lies by pro­vid­ing holis­tic per­son-cen­tered sup­port, work­ing in part­ner­ship with fam­i­lies and by valu­ing and respect­ing our way’ — MJDF approach. The MCS will pro­vide inten­sive ser­vices and sup­port to fam­i­lies such as assess­ing client, fam­i­ly and car­er needs, plan­ning, infor­ma­tion and refer­ral, group work, liais­ing with and pro­vid­ing access and par­tic­i­pa­tion to com­mu­ni­ty groups, wel­fare agen­cies, and gov­ern­ment bodies.

The role is great­ly var­ied in its day to day tasks, and will pro­vide hands on sup­port to affect­ed clients and their fam­i­lies liv­ing Cen­tral Aus­tralia. The com­mu­ni­ties we pro­vide sup­port to include Mparn­twe (Alice Springs), Papun­ya, Ntaria (Her­manns­burg) and Ltyen­tye Apurte (San­ta Tere­sa). Since this is a solo posi­tion, we require some­one who is able and com­fort­able to oper­ate inde­pen­dent­ly, is self-moti­vat­ed and ini­ti­ates change.

In addi­tion, the role will pro­vide sup­port to the man­age­ment team across all core activ­i­ties of the MJD Foun­da­tion (Edu­ca­tion, Equip­ment, Advo­ca­cy, Research and Com­mu­ni­ty Services).
