NDIS Man­ag­er (full­time, based in Darwin)

The MJD Foun­da­tion is cur­rent­ly seek­ing an NDIS Man­ag­er based in Dar­win. The NDIS Man­ag­er leads our NDIS team and is respon­si­ble for man­ag­ing the admin­is­tra­tive process­es required for MJDF’s clients to have the best pos­si­ble out­comes for their NDIS plans. The MJDF works in a rela­tion­ship-based approach that hon­ours Our Way. The Our Way’ approach val­ues and respects a two-way’ approach, deliv­er­ing sup­ports that are flex­i­ble and respon­sive to the needs of our clients, and reflect­ing the diverse cul­tur­al and lin­guis­tic needs of families.

The NDIS Man­ag­er will liaise inter­nal­ly with the MJDF Com­mu­ni­ty Ser­vices and Finance teams, and exter­nal­ly with key stake­hold­ers, includ­ing the Nation­al Dis­abil­i­ty Insur­ance Agency (NDIA) and oth­er NDIS Sup­port providers. The posi­tion is part of the Man­age­ment team of the MJDF and includes liai­son with oth­er senior staff of the MJDF. This role is pri­mar­i­ly aimed at meet­ing the MJDF’s NDIS oblig­a­tions as a reg­is­tered sup­port provider and ensur­ing excel­lent out­comes for clients from their NDIS plans. The role will vary from day to day and the indi­vid­ual employed in this role must be high­ly organ­ised and moti­vat­ed with excel­lent stake­hold­er man­age­ment, com­mu­ni­ca­tion and admin­is­tra­tive skills.

(Spe­cial) Pro­gram Man­ag­er (Part time approx. 24 hours/​week, times and days flexible)

The MJD Foun­da­tion is cur­rent­ly seek­ing a (Spe­cial) Pro­gram Man­ag­er. The Pro­gram Man­ag­er (MJD House — Kin Con­nect – Hol­i­day of a Life­time – oth­er projects) is a mem­ber of an inte­grat­ed team with over­all respon­si­bil­i­ty for man­ag­ing the MJD House, Respite, Kin Con­nect and Hol­i­days of a Life­time Programs. 

The MJD HOUSE pro­gram goal is for our clients to have sched­uled and reg­u­lar access to respite so that they can stay stronger for longer – and keep on liv­ing in and being cared for in their com­mu­ni­ties and homes as their MJD progresses. 

The Kin Con­nect pro­gram is an essen­tial com­po­nent of care required to main­tain ade­quate qual­i­ty of life for any indi­vid­ual who is unable to receive the lev­el of care they need in their home com­mu­ni­ty and has there­fore been relo­cat­ed to a per­ma­nent care sit­u­a­tion else­where. If an indi­vid­ual is no longer able to live in their home com­mu­ni­ty, and is liv­ing in per­ma­nent care/​supported accom­mo­da­tion else­where, the Kin Con­nect pro­gram is defined as a peri­od where that per­son is escort­ed home to vis­it fam­i­lies to keep con­nect­ed to their community.

The Hol­i­day of a Life­time pro­gram aims to pro­vide each (severe) MJD client a hol­i­day of a life­time, as our bud­get allows. A hol­i­day is a non-essen­tial, yet qual­i­ty of life improv­ing activ­i­ty, and the des­ti­na­tion is cho­sen by the indi­vid­ual with MJD.

The MJD Foun­da­tion is cur­rent­ly seek­ing a Fam­i­ly Sup­port Work­er for our team in Dar­win. The Gen­er­al All rounder will pro­vide gen­er­al sup­port to the oper­a­tions team. The MJDF works in a rela­tion­ship-based approach that hon­ours Our Way. The pur­pose of the FSW posi­tion is to assist the work of the Man­ag­er Com­mu­ni­ty Ser­vices (MCS) by pro­vid­ing inten­sive ser­vices and sup­port to fam­i­lies, such as assess­ing client/​family needs; plan­ning; infor­ma­tion and refer­ral; group work; liais­ing with and pro­vid­ing access and par­tic­i­pa­tion to com­mu­ni­ty groups, wel­fare agen­cies, and gov­ern­ment bod­ies. The Fam­i­ly Sup­port Work­er pro­vides high qual­i­ty, respon­sive and cul­tur­al­ly appro­pri­ate sup­port to Abo­rig­i­nal and/​or Tor­res Strait Islander fam­i­lies. The Fam­i­ly Sup­port Work­er will be an expe­ri­enced pro­fes­sion­al with knowl­edge and expe­ri­ence in the com­mu­ni­ty and/​or dis­abil­i­ty ser­vices sec­tor. The role is great­ly var­ied in its day to day tasks, based in Dar­win and for a fixed term peri­od until Decem­ber 2022.

Man­ag­er, Com­mu­ni­ty Ser­vices- Alice Springs — Part time, 3 days/​week or flexible

The MJD Foun­da­tion is cur­rent­ly seek­ing a Man­ag­er, Com­mu­ni­ty Ser­vices (MCS) based in Alice Springs. MJDF works in a rela­tion­ship-based approach that hon­ours Our Way. The MCS is a stand alone’ or solo posi­tion based in Alice Springs. The MCS is a mem­ber of a larg­er team based across mul­ti­ple loca­tions (Dar­win, Cairns, Groote) with respon­si­bil­i­ty for the com­mu­ni­ty & clin­i­cal ser­vices deliv­ered by the MJDF in Cen­tral Aus­tralia.
The MCS will work to sup­port our clients and their fam­i­lies by pro­vid­ing holis­tic per­son-cen­tered sup­port, work­ing in part­ner­ship with fam­i­lies and by valu­ing and respect­ing our way’ — MJDF approach. The MCS will pro­vide inten­sive ser­vices and sup­port to fam­i­lies such as assess­ing client, fam­i­ly and car­er needs, plan­ning, infor­ma­tion and refer­ral, group work, liais­ing with and pro­vid­ing access and par­tic­i­pa­tion to com­mu­ni­ty groups, wel­fare agen­cies, and gov­ern­ment bodies.

The role is great­ly var­ied in its day to day tasks, and will pro­vide hands on sup­port to affect­ed clients and their fam­i­lies liv­ing Cen­tral Aus­tralia. The com­mu­ni­ties we pro­vide sup­port to include Mparn­twe (Alice Springs), Papun­ya, Ntaria (Her­manns­burg) and Ltyen­tye Apurte (San­ta Tere­sa). Since this is a solo posi­tion, we require some­one who is able and com­fort­able to oper­ate inde­pen­dent­ly, is self-moti­vat­ed and ini­ti­ates change.

In addi­tion, the role will pro­vide sup­port to the man­age­ment team across all core activ­i­ties of the MJD Foun­da­tion (Edu­ca­tion, Equip­ment, Advo­ca­cy, Research and Com­mu­ni­ty Services).

Assis­tant Accounts Offi­cer (per­ma­nent, part time, 16 hours/​week), South­ern Sydney/​St George area

The MJD Foun­da­tion is cur­rent­ly seek­ing an Assis­tant Accounts Offi­cer for our team in South­ern Sydney/​St George area. The Assis­tant Accounts Offi­cer will work as part of a small finance team from our Syd­ney office pro­vid­ing high qual­i­ty finan­cial sup­port. The Assis­tant Accounts Offi­cer will be a dri­ven pro­fes­sion­al with finan­cial acu­men, a finan­cial back­ground or some­one cur­rent­ly study­ing account­ing. We are offer­ing a per­ma­nent part time role for 16 hours per week, days are flexible.
