Roseanna's Trip to Seaworld and Movieworld

Join us in sharing Roseanna's trip to Seaworld, Movieworld and LOTS and LOTS of Shopping.

What's happening?:
The MJD Foundation are committed to providing special trips to each person affected with MJD in North East Arnhemland.  This is the third trip we have done, and Roseanna is having a week on the Gold Coast going to Seaworld, Movieworld and doing lots of sightseeing.

Here is Roseanna leaving Angurugu, Groote Eylandt.  Pictured here with our friendly pilots from Vincent Aviation.

Thanks also to Anglicare NT who contributed to some of the costs of flights and paid for Darwin accommodation as part of their respite services.

Our HotelMonday 16th February 2009
After a great night at the Darwin Airport Motor Inn Roseanna and Margaret started their trip to Brisbane flying with Qantas. It was pouring rain in Darwin. The Qantas ground crew were wonderful. Roseanna really enjoyed the flight and meal on the plane.

Roseanna and Margaret were greeted at Brisbane Airport by Bryan and Kathy Massey before travelled to the Gold Coast. It was a really big day and Roseanna and Margaret were  really tried by the time they settled in the room at the resort.
 Train Trip

Tuesday 17th February 2009
Roseanna spent the morning shopping and bought sarongs, bags and looked at all the different clothes. At lunchtime she went for a train ride to South Bank and a trip on the Brisbane Ferry.

Roseanna was very excited on the train and a little unsure of the different sounds. A wave in the train for the Angurugu Health Clinic and to let them know she well and happy. Dinnertime was off to Surfers Paradise for dinner and some more shopping.

At the beachWe had a quick look at the surf.  Roseanna is finding the weather a little cool (what a contrast to Groote Eylandt) but enjoying herself with all the new experiences.
MovieworldWed 18th February 2009
A trip to Movie World was Roseanna's adventure today. Roseanna laughed all the way through a 3D Movie.  Despite the rain, Margaret and Roseanna covered lots of Movieworld, and ight even come back another day when the weather improves.  Roseanna then asked Margaret to go shopping again. Roseanna's loving the shopping.

Roseanna and MargaretThursday 19th Feb

The big day for Roseanna arrived for her to swim with the Dolphins at Seaworld.
Bryan, Kathy and Libby's children Talor, Alex and Erica Wurramara came down from Brisbane for the day to be with Roseanna and Margaret.

Margaret helped Roseanna to get into her swimming gear and went with Roseanna into the water.

Roseanna with DolphinRoseanna's dolphin was named Tyson, Fredrick had Tuffy, Tuffy was not far away in the next bay with his trainer.

Roseanna loved her swim and the beautiful dolphin, she was able to get really close and pat him. Tyson waved goodbye with his tail

It was a lovely sunny day and after the swim we looked at some shops, some other attractions with the animals and then it was off home.
